Studying at home certainly beats studying outside, because of a familiar environment and the access to a wide range of information (from the web) and tools as my desk also houses my computer. This access of information, however, is also a double edged sword.
All it takes is one link of interest, regardless of whatever you are researching on, to deviate you from your intended course. Even in the absence of a link of interest, the tendency to just check out whatever surfaces in your mind at the very moment, is still a considerable distraction.
The former is how research on Wireless Technologies lead from cellular to satellite communications, and ultimately end up on Signals Intelligence and weapons guidance. As for the latter, that is how I ended up reading on the world of Faerun in Dungeons and Dragons yesterday, instead of studying for my J2ME quiz which I took earlier today, which I expect to score moderately.
Term tests are up the next week and I can only hope that my concentration rolls improve.
